Pyrogranite
2023
Pyrogranite offers a unique experience, Riesling shows us another face we have never seen before, matured in the special Pyrogranite balls. The breathability of the amphora brings out the petroleum notes of the Riesling, but leaves the candied orange fruit notes lurking throughout. In the sip, it shows a nice fullness and mature notes, which it presents accompanied by a calm, broad range of acidity. The acids are harmonized by the sugar left over from fermentation, which is further played with by the salty undertones of the volcanic subsoil. A very long finesse keeps the taste of the sip in our mouth for a long time, which makes us wonder how such a miracle could have been born in the Carpathian basin.

Pyrogranite balls
Pyrogranite balls are made in Italy, white clay is mixed with granite powder and lime, then vibrated into a ball shape for proper compactness and fired at a temperature three times higher than classic clay amphorae. Its special feature is micro-oxidation, if I compare it with the wooden barrel, the air permeability is only one third. This allows us to age a lighter-bodied wine in it. With the fact that the ball does not add vanilla and smoky flavors to the wine, and there is no tannin dissolution, it allows the Rhine Riesling to develop to a much higher level during the 12-month maturation. Theoretically, it takes 5 years to reach this state in the bottle. The miracle is not over yet, as there is also a bit of limestone in the ball, whose connection with the wine enhances the salty and mineral character from the volcanic subsoil. So, the remaining sugar in the wine is not only kept in harmony by the acids, but the terroir sign also enters the ring on the side of the acids. We did a unique thing, nobody in the Carpathian basin before us played with Riesling like this. Try it, let this unique experience be yours.
